Section 17. Movement of Seed
When seed grown for certification is moved prior to tagging (either intended for certification or fully certified), it must be properly identified. It is the responsibility of the applicant or conditioner to request the Seed Transfer Certificate prior to the seed being moved. This certificate is for movement of seed Intra-County, Inter-County, or Inter-agency (State).
The certificate may be initiated by the applicant/conditioner when logged into the members only section. The certificate must be approved as accurate by the Agricultural Commissioner office of the originating county. An approved certificate will be available in both the county of origin and county of destination in the members only section of the web site.
17.1 Intra-County movement of seed. Seed to be moved from one applicant/conditioner to another within the same California county shall have a Seed Transfer Certificate issued through the authority of the local Agricultural Commissioner. It is the intent of this permit to track seed moving under their jurisdiction. Any movement of seed between facilities within the same California county (such as storage to conditioner or conditioner to conditioner) must be approved by the local Agricultural Commissioner. The Seed Transfer Certificate is not to be used as a Bulk Sale Certificate to the end user, (refer to Section 24 Containers, Tags, and Labels).
17.2 Inter-County movement of seed. Seed to be moved from one California county into another California county shall have a Seed Transfer Certificate issued through the authority of the local Agricultural Commissioner. It is the intent of this permit to notify the Agricultural Commissioner's office in the receiving county that seed eligible for certification is moving under their jurisdiction. The Seed Transfer Certificate is not to be used as a Bulk Sale Certificate to the end user, (refer to Section 24 Containers, Tags, and Labels).
17.3 Inter-Agency (State) movement of seed. When seed is moved to another state or an AOSCA country a Seed Transfer Certificate shall be used. The intent of this document is to inform the appropriate AOSCA agency of the identity, class, stage of conditioning or other pertinent information.
